KMII, which stands for Keluarga Masyarakat Islam Indonesia (Family of the Indonesian Muslim Community), is an Islamic organization and da'wah platform in Japan, driven by the Indonesian Muslim community living in Japan.
The organization was originally founded out of the need to hold religious observances such as Friday prayers and Eid prayers for the Indonesian Muslim community, particularly in the Tokyo area.
However, over the past several years, the focus of KMII's activities has expanded beyond serving the Indonesian Muslim community in Japan to include da'wah outreach to the wider Japanese society.
Today, KMII's activities are oriented more toward capacity building in religious life and professional development for the Indonesian Muslim community in Japan.
As an open platform, KMII serves all segments of the Indonesian community, both individuals and organizations.
